Our Approach

supporting
athlete
development

Our Hockey Off-Season Performance Program operates 4 days per week and is grounded in evidence-based sports science to support long-term athlete development.

Program includes;

  • 4x/week off ice training (May 4th- August 27th)
  • 1x/week on ice in June (Flames Community Arena)
  • 2x/week on ice in July/August (Seven Chiefs Sportsplex)
  • VALD testing

Training focuses on speed and agility mechanics, efficient movement patterns, and proper biomechanics, helping athletes move more effectively while reducing unnecessary stress on joints and soft tissue. A structured strength and power program develops force production, stability, and coordination that directly translates to on-ice performance.

Each athlete completes a comprehensive physiotherapy assessment and VALD performance testing, allowing us to objectively measure strength, asymmetries, and movement capacity. This data is used to individualize training, track progress throughout the off-season, and proactively identify areas that may increase injury risk.

Parents can be confident their athlete is training in a safe, monitored environment with programming designed to build performance while protecting long-term health.
